Holiday

Design Studio Interior Solutions was commissioned to update a 90’s Boulder townhome. Our goal was to lighten it up, open it up, and modernize.
We achieved this by painting the existing kitchen cabinets a light grey/beige paint color and adding sleek new hardware. Interest was added with an artistic backsplash and vertical charcoal tile on the front side of the island, as well as new tile flooring and modern light fixtures.
the Kitchen
The dining table was custom made by a Boulder woodworker we’ve worked with before. Green upholstered chairs pull double duty as host and hostess chairs and a sitting area by the window. A contemporary design cowhide rug grounds the table and chairs in the space.
the entry
Upon entering the home, a coat closet blocked the open feeling. We eliminated the closet and designed a custom dry bar, complete with glass cabinets and wine storage. The stairwell wall was removed and replaced with an iron railing. The whole effect is more contemporary, open, light — and very artfully executed.
