These homeowners had just completed a spectacular renovation of their beautiful Boulder property. The house was gutted to the studs, reshaped and remodeled to take full advantage of the gorgeous view and amazing natural light. With the renovation completed, the owners wanted to finalize it with furnishings full of color and energy. A red rug in the dining room; a red mosaic tile wall in the powder bathroom; shades of blue and cream in the family room and a bouquet of floral tones in the master bedroom.
Mountain Mural Makeover
The master suite is truly special. Design Studio brought in a local painter to create a custom mural of the Flatiron Mountains, meadows and sky on the wall above the bathtub. With soft colors and an impressionistic approach, this mural offers a dreamy look at the natural Boulder landmark with a similar color palette to the master bedroom wallpaper.

Bringing The Outdoors In
The custom mural in the master bathroom is an echo of the magnificent view of the Flatiron Mountains as seen from the family room. The view is truly one of the best in the area. Starting with that, the blues, greys and creams of this uniquely Colorado sight created the palette for the family room. The homeowners entertain splendidly so they wanted a built-in wet bar, a fireplace and a style that was sophisticated and but accommodating for a crowd. Further, this room is the main gathering space for the home so comfort was a primary concern. Design Studio found a lean and contemporary recliner and selected a warm, tan nubuck leather to keep the look elevated. The custom sofa was made longer and deeper to create an inviting spot to watch movies and sporting events. And the two swivel chairs are covered in the softest, richest navy blue velvet. The ability to face the bar, the sofa or the flatscreen provides versatility while not sacrificing one bit of elegance.
